CONTACLESS RFID CARDS

RFID technology uses various identification media including the RFID card or contactless card.
A chip connected to an antenna allows this card to transmit data to an RFID reader.

There are 2 types of RFID cards:

Active: These cards have a power source integrated into the chip. They are autonomous and do not need power from the reader to transmit their data.
Passive: These do not have their own power source. They need power from the reader to activate and transmit their data.
As it does not require contact, this card can work in multiple environments. The areas showing the most extensive usage of contactless cards are: hotel key cards, transportation, payment, access to buildings, access to health services, and identification/travel documents (ID cards and biometric passports).
